- The problem with the current WB icon system is that no palette information is
- incorporated into the icon. That means that if you change your WB colours, the
- icon colours will change with it. It's really not very clever in that respect.
- MagicWB does nothing to improve this. You are stilled locked into a particular
- colour scheme. Change the WB colours and the icons change with it. The
- newicons patch attempts to improve this by storing palette information into the
- icon. At the moment, the icon information (I'm not sure how much of it) is
- stored into the tooltypes (hence all that rubbish there). What it means though
- is that you can change the WB colours to your hearts content and the icon patch
- will utilize the pen-sharing of OS3+ and give you the same coloured icons. If
- you really want to see the difference, try changing the WB colours and see what
- happens to MagicWB and NewIcons. The NewIcons approach is considerable better.
